Fabric Apples

At sewing camp we made apples. We used a technique called reverse applique. It is where you put the right sides out for an applique.

We made quite a mess!

We had lots of fun fabric!

Some of them we finished with a cinnamon sticks and raffia.

They were really fun to make.

Flower Pressing

I am doing a co-op  class on pressed flowers.
I find petri dishes helpful for gathering flowers.

Here I am gathering flowers.

My press.

All my flower pressing things.

Another close up of my press.

A bookmark
I made the rocks in the picture by taking hot rocks and drawing on them with crayons. Then gluing  flowers to them.
Me and my class are labeling flowers.

A fun box!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my flowers!

Sketch Tuesday

I did sketch Tuesday last week. The subject was a laundry room. This is my laundry basket.
My basket. The thing on the right is a dryer.

You can see the slide show of what other kids drew here.

Home Made Postcard

I made a homemade postcard by gluing art on a piece of paper. I used toothpicks to dot paint. I used packing tape to attach everything.

The finished postcard.

I hope to make more.

Strawberry Muffins

I tried making Strawberry Muffins from a cookbook I picked out at a booksale in the spring.
I know...it's fall, but I'm behind with blogging which I'm sure you know if you are a reader and wonder where all my posts have gone! My mom would like to see me blog more and thinks I will like it more as I learn more about it and get familiar with the keyboard. So, blogging is now part of my homeschool.

Mmmmm....strawberries!
I learned how to fold items into a batter.

You put strawberry jam in the middle of the batter and add more batter on top.

Yum!

I thought about entering these into the 4-H Fair, but when they are cut they have to stay together nicely and these muffins definitely would not have behaved!

Stay tuned for more blogging!

Quilt Patch Skirt

Some of you might know about Sewing Camp from my mom's blog. Some of my friends and I got together with some of our moms to sew over the summer. Now we are meeting once a month on Sunday afternoons for the school year.

I learned how to use a serger which is really a lot of fun!

I have to attach two more layers of the skirt. What do you think of my colors?

I'm just about to finish it and I can't wait to wear it! Sewing camp is lots of fun!

T-Shirt Refashion

Recently I had some time to refashion a tshirt for Kirsten. I used one of my mom's old tshirts.
Kirsten is sporting a vintage Zone 15 MOPS tshirt. I used a very old (2006) MOPS logo from the corner of the shirt.
